Irwin Weiner (ASID, NCIDQ) typically uses a combination of architectural and decorative elements to create an interior as natural and well-proportioned as a finely tailored garment.

Since 1986, designer Irwin Weiner and his IWI team have provided architectural detailing, custom furnishings, built-ins, and decorating. Irwin’s projects focus primarily on the East Coast, but his client base ranges from Hawaii to his native South Africa. IWI’s mission is to create interiors, whether traditional or contemporary, which reflect the clients’ personality and lifestyle. Irwin’s work always adds humor and eclecticism into his comfortable, luxurious rooms.

Irwin studied furniture making, architecture, fine art, and graphic design in Cape Town, South Africa. He was co-owner of an antique shop specializing in 18th and 19th Century English and Dutch Colonial pieces. He has an interior design degree from Fashion Institute of Technology, and is co-owner of the popular interior design website Design2Share as well as co-host of its Q&A videos.


IWI’s published works include Architectural Digest, New York Times, Oprah Home, Women’s Day, Area, Westchester Home, Better Homes & Gardens, Array, Gotham, and South Africa’s Style. Irwin’s “Mid-Century Style, In a Country Manor” work for the Village Improvement Association of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, Bucks County Designer House & Gardens was featured in the book Designer Showcase: Interior Design At Its Best (Schiffer, 2006). Irwin's work has recently been highlighted in the 2010 Hamptons Designer Showhouse and in the book The Decorative Carpet: Fine Handmade Rugs in Contemporary Interiors (Random House, 2010).
